Emerson's Enhanced Flue Gas Analyzers Certified for Hazardous Areas
X-STREAM® Oxygen Analyzers help improve combustion efficiency and reduce greenhouse gases
Emerson Process Management has enhanced its Rosemount Analtyical X-STREAM® Oxygen Analyzers and attained certification for hazardous areas, now offering capability to refining and petrochemical facilities that require Class I Zone I and ATEX Exd IIB approvals. The X-STREAM O2 analyzer is the first gas analyzer in the industry to be certified for hazardous areas with an optional process end flame arrestor.
Better analysis of the flue gases exiting the combustion process permits plant operators to improve the efficiencies of large boilers and process heater furnaces and also to provide immediate reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions with minimal investment.
These analyzers provide information to control the fuel-to-air ratio in furnace burners, much in the same way it’s done on today’s automobiles. The X-STREAM O2 probe offers improved AccuMax™ accuracy specifications, extended temperature capability, and FM, CSA, and ATEX approvals for hazardous areas.According to Doug Simmers, Worldwide Product Manager for Rosemount Analytical, large process heater furnaces often burn waste fuel gases from different areas within a facility, and the BTU value of these waste fuels can vary significantly from day to day, and hour to hour. A reliable reading of oxygen permits the operator to fine tune the combustion fuel-air ratio despite changes in fuel BTU and air density going into the burners.
The X-STREAM line of combustion O2 probes offer long life in this difficult service, and are now designed to be repaired without removing the probe from the furnace duct. Additionally, they can provide indication of reducing conditions that may occur inside the furnace during plant upsets.

Liquid Analytical News
Datasheet: Model 54e Conductivity, pH/ORP, & Amperometric Hart® Analyzers/Controllers
The Model 54e family of analyzers, with the appropriate sensors, monitor and control pH/ORP, Conductivity/Resistivity, dissolved oxygen (ppm and ppb level), free chlorine, total chlorine, or ozone in a variety of process liquids...
Datasheet: Dual-Input Intelligent Analyzer
The Model 1056 dual-input analyzer offers single- or dual-sensor input with an unrestricted choice of dual measurements, thus reducing the cost per loop and saving panel space...
Brochure: Monitoring Water Safety
Aging infrastructure complicates the prevention of waterborne disease, while outmoded analyzers make detection of serious contamination difficult. Water distribution systems get larger, but staff and budgets shrink. With so much at stake, you can't afford to take chances...
Analytical Measurements Protect Recovery Furnace And Boiler In A Pulp And Paper MillBy Emerson Process Management, Rosemount Analytical LiquidRecovery Boiler operations can be improved considerably by using continuous analytical measurements. The boiler is optimized for longevity by monitoring the quality of water used to produce steam. This also protects the boiler tubes against corrosion and pitting due to harmful mineral deposits. Additionally, accurate analysis of both combustion flue gases and boiler water can be used to prevent explosive conditions...
Model 242 Flow Through Toroidal Conductivity SensorRosemount Analytical Toroidal Conductivity Sensors are ideal for use in processes where contacting sensors -- those with electrodes exposed to the measured solution -- would corrode or become fouled
Datasheet: Retraction/Submersion/Insertion pH/ORP Sensor
The TUpH large area reference junction for minimum maintenance requirements: The reference junction provides an electrical connection between the reference electrode and the sample, and helps maintain a stable reference potential, regardless of the change in sample pH...
Model WQS: Multi-Parameter Electrochemical/Optical Water Quality System
The Model WQS water quality system is intended for the determination of pH, ORP, conductivity, temperature, free chlorine, monochloramine, oxygen, turbidity, and particle index in fresh water.Download the product datasheet for complete specifications.
